UK Biobank, UK research charity serving >30,000 approved researchers worldwide. 2023-2024 transition from bulk data download to cloud-only research platform, metered per-analysis on top of an existing £9,000 three-year access fee. Members of the neuroscience community reported research project costs would approximately double.
